Frequently Asked Questions

  • What happens during a technical survey?

Before installation, we carry out a technical survey to make sure your home is suitable for solar.

During the technical survey our surveyor will:

    • Access the loft space to take measurements and carry out a damp check
    • Take photos and measurements of the roof and exterior of the property
    • Take photos of your electricity meter, fuse box and mains supply
    • Confirm suitable locations for panels, inverter and battery.
  • Why do I need a technical survey?

Every home is different, so the technical survey allows us to confirm that your property is suitable for solar and that the system is designed correctly for your home.

It also helps us identify the best layout and equipment placement before installation begins.

  • How long does installation take?

Solar installations can vary depending on the size and complexity of the system.

However, a typical installation usually follows this process:

Day 1 – scaffolding will be set up

Day 3-4 – solar panels, inverter and battery system installed

Installation complete – you will receive a demonstration of your system, help setting up the Fox app and guidance on getting the most from your solar system

    Day 5+ – scaffolding removed
